This 150+ page resource on veggies will turn boring into bold when it comes to serving veggies to your family.
The Veggie Book: How to Pick, Prepare and Plate is a book you don't want to miss. Over 50 recipes written by three moms who enjoy feeding their family healthy but tasty food. These are not your mama's frozen peas!
Why write a veggie book? Read here about my conversion from loathing to love.
What is The Veggie Book?
The Veggie Book is a comprehensive book all about VEGETABLES! Did you guess that?
Sara from Your Thriving Family, Debra from Worth Cooking Kayla from Renown and Crowned [developing editor] and I have come together to give nutritional information, how to select the best quality, how to store it to maximize freshness, and common ways to serve vegetables. And most of all make them tasty!
We hope that we can encourage, inspire, and direct moms who want to give their family vegetables their whole family will enjoy.
For our first volume of The Veggie Book, we have chosen just 11 of our favorite veggies (and fruits, in botanical terms):
Asparagus
Avocado
Broccoli
Cabbage
Carrots
Leafy Greens
Green Beans
Tomatoes
Peas
Sweet Potatoes
Zucchini
In each section, you'll find basic nutritional info, how to select, basic prep and cooking information, common uses, and storage of each vegetable followed by a handful of recipes featuring that vegetable. There are over 150 pages of vegetable information and delicious recipes in this book!
Recipes
There are 52 recipes in The Veggie Book. That means you could try a new recipe each week for a full year! In addition to being tested by the authors, and their families, we sent out the recipes to other bloggers, moms, dads, and singles to see if they liked them too.

Reviews
The Veggie Book is a cookbook that I have been looking forward to reading for weeks now. Like many, I often find myself stuck in the same rotation when serving veggies: steamed broccoli, roasted Brussel sprouts, and raw veggies with homemade ranch dip are the ones we see at our house over and over and over. The Veggie Book is changing that! The book is divided by vegetable, with nutrition, selection, storage, preparation and ways to commonly serve, followed by a handful of creative recipes for each vegetable. Some of my favorite recipes include: Chinese Chicken Salad, Spice It Up Carrot Fries, Chicken Pot Pie Soup, and Apple, Fennel, and Spinach Salad. This book is one I will be referencing on a weekly basis to spice up the vegetable selections in our house!

“Do you wish your family ate more veggies? Did you grow up with boring canned veggies and have no idea how to serve them so they taste good? Dive into this book and you will learn! The authors feature 10 different vegetables with nutrition information and a few recipes for each. They also include gorgeous photographs that will inspire you to eat the veggies immediately, and a general guide to cooking, buying, and storing them. This is the most comprehensive veggie cookbook I've run across from real food bloggers. Buy it and start enjoying your veggies!”
