Spring is a time of renewal, growth and new life. Nature awakens from a long winter slumber and for most people, there's an air of expectation and excitement. Consistently warmer weather means more outdoor activities and much-needed sunshine. Nature's renewal reminds me of the areas of our lives we often neglect but should be renewing on a regular basis.
Physical Renewal
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We must take care of it with nutrient-dense foods, exercise, and quality natural skin care. The latter may surprise you but keep in mind, our skin the biggest organ we have. It's the outer shell of our Earth suit, if you will.
Because our skin is so vital to our overall health and appearance, it's important that we take time to care for it every day. I neglected my skin in my teens and early twenties with no products/cleansing or the wrong products and cleansing. The best things for our skin are natural, God created oils and herbs. No laboratory can replace or replicate what God created.
I've used many products over the years from Avon to Arbonne but none have been as refreshing and natural as Birdlegs Naturals. I met Angie online in our Community group and she sent me some samples of her homemade skin care products. I've been using them since January and I love them.
Spiritual Renewal
The Bible tells us we should renew our minds but how often do we really spend time renewing our thought processes, being grateful, and living intentionally?
Spiritual renewal comes in many ways:
- Intentional daily time with the Lord (devotions, worship, soaking)
- Gaining insight and understanding into God's love, mercy, and grace
- Breaking off bondage and living free from our past
We are attacked from all sides on a daily basis. The everyday pressure of normal life: mothering, marriage, money, and work chip away at our thoughts, emotions, and attitudes. Daily time in the Word, prayer, and worship help us live from a place of fulfillment, not drainage.
When we can, we should also dig deeper into the character of God to understand how He loves us and how we are to love others. Our role on Earth, as ambassadors of the Kingdom, means we must know the One we represent so we can rightly represent Him.
It's hard to walk around representing Christ when we're carrying around suitcases full of junk from our past. Renewal often means we shed off past garbage and live a restored life in Christ.
Spacial Renewal
Don't you just love the idea of a clean, organized home? For most of us the idea is lovely but the actual work of getting it done is done is monumental. Whether you're Spring cleaning, trying to declutter or create a family routine, keeping your home and family organized is one of the best things you can do to reduce stress and eliminate tensions.
My favorite way to keep organized: lists. I can create lists for everything, and I do! Going away, staying home, cleaning, chores, car maintenance, the budget – I need a list and a plan. Sometimes digital, sometimes paper but either way lists keep me on track and moving forward.
I don't have time to craft neat lists anymore, coaching, homeschooling, and writing keep me busy when added to my normal work of making healthy meals, house cleaning and being a wife and mother. So I use List Planit for my list needs. Jennifer's eplanners, digital lists, and printables keep me on track.
The busy lives we live often lead us to neglect the most important aspects of life. These are the things that keep us able to give, go, and guide others. As busy moms, working women, godly wives (or any combination thereof) we must take intentional time to renew this life we live so that we can be lights in the world around us.
I need all three! LOL Seriously, this time I’m in is crazy. Moving to another country, financial problems, super busy, traveling etc. I’m just clinging to God for His direction and peace.
And to be complete, it is so important that we renew ourselves in all three areas of life
I’m going to enter this giveaway – it sounds like the kind of book that I may still be able to use
